On October 24th, the Geneva Initiative in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a joint three-day seminar in Cyprus between leading Russian-speaking Israeli journalists and Palestinian activists. Over the course of the seminar, we discussed the most pressing (and most sensitive) issues, sharing our stories, learning from other conflicts, and discussing the path forward. Some of our participants are experienced peace activists; for others, it was their first meeting with the other side — but all returned home with a renewed sense of the urgency of a solution, and the hope sparked by meeting partners on the other side.
The seminar is part of the Geneva Initiative’s broader strategy to spread support and strengthen voices for peace within the Russian-speaking community in Israel.
