A poll commissioned by the Geneva Initiative indicates that a majority of the Israeli public (56%) believe the continuation of the status quo is bad for Israel, whilst almost half (53%) believe that the Israeli government had made insufficient effort to reach a peace agreement.
The two state solution remained, by far, the most favored option.
“The public is more realistic than some of its leaders and understands that the lack of a political process with no genuine efforts to resolve the conflict prove detrimental to Israel,” GI’s Director-General, Gadi Baltiansky commented.
