Feb. 8: Nir Hasson reports in Haaretz newspaper on the future release of a Geneva Initiative-commissioned policy document that is currently in-the-making. As the physical, political, and demographic reality no longer resembles the situation on the ground that existed two decades ago, we have formulated a vision with our experts for an Open Jerusalem within the framework of a two-state solution.
“The new document proposes expanding the open city context to all of Jerusalem. Both Israel and the new Palestinian state would have sovereignty in the city. The Palestinian capital would be in East Jerusalem, with no border between the two cities. Jerusalem would continue the function as a single city, with close cooperation between the two sides,” Hasson writes.
