French President Emannuel Macron, in his first meeting with Yair Lapid since the latter was appointed Israeli Prime Minister, urged Lapid to renew the peace process with Palestinian leadership: “I know how much you can mark history if you relaunch this process, which has been broken for too long.”
Lapid supports a two-state solution and relaunching negotiations, but is restricted by right-wing elements in the governing coalition.
