A group of young activists who participated in one of our training seminars in February were invited alongside GI Project Manager Naomi Sternberg to a Knesset conference on “The Day After – Security and a Political Horizon as a Guarantee of the State of Isael’s Future.” In a closing statement, Sternberg stressed the need for political advocacy at the highest levels towards a two-state solution:
“We at the Geneva Initiative work extensively with, among others, young people, women, and activists, and I can stay to you that you cannot focus exclusively on electoral changes in the hope that this will bring policy change. We need leaders who will proudly, openly demand a two-state solution. We are past the time when it was possible to believe that if we ignored the conflict, it would ignore us.”
