On November 10th, a group of young journalists met with Ashraf al-Ajrami, former minister for prisoners and GI leader. In his remarks, Ashraf referred to the current challenges faced by Palestinian society amid corona, the issue of security and civilian coordination with Israel (prior to its resumption), the agreements between Israel and the Gulf states, and the election results in the United States. When asked if he had hope for the future, Ashraf said whilst he is always optimistic, with the new Biden administration he believes that it is possible to eventually reach the two-state solution.
This meeting is part of a broader programme that aims to create channels of dialogue between Israeli journalists and Palestinians. The Palestinian narrative is excluded from the Israeli reporting, and engagements like these, helps to enrich media discourse around peace and the conflict.
