On Friday June 24th, we brought together two incredibly diverse cohorts of Israeli and Palestinian youth: parliamentary advisors, civil society activists, and student leaders from all political backgrounds and a range of locations through Israel and the OPT. After a presentation on Palestinian and Israeli narratives, the group engaged in direct discussions about obstacles to peace, the core issues of the conflict, personal stories and perspectives. The discussions were intense and the subjects were loaded, but we came out of the room having brought 20 influential young people from different sides together for honest engagement on the conflict for the first time, all of them with new information, new connections, and new enthusiasm for the next meeting.
