On Friday 23rd June, a group of young leaders, including parliamentary assistants, party list members and social media influencers, joined us for a tour of Jerusalem’s Old City led by a Palestinian and an Israeli guide. It was followed by a conversation with Jerusalemites, Saman Khoury and Meir Kraus. Each presented their perspective through the historical, political and religious lens, touched on the sensitivities of the city, and the national aspirations of both peoples.
The discussions left us with an important message: differing narratives don’t have to prevent us from working together to promote dialogue, mutual understanding and a solution to the conflict. While Jerusalem is one of the hardest issues to solve, there are creative and practical ways to move forward.
This is part of a project supported by the European Union.
