With the Trump Plan in the background, alongside the looming threat of annexation and international reactions, last weekend we organized a two-day policy enrichment seminar as part of our ongoing journalists project. Media professionals from a wide variety of influential Israeli news outlets spent the end of their week learning and speaking with our experts about Palestinian public opinion, demographic trends, and the consequences of the American Plan. Speakers included Dr. Khalil Shikaki, Prof. Sergio Della Pergola, Sara Haetzni-Cohen and Gadi Baltiansky.
On the second day of the seminar, we went on a tour of Jerusalem with Col. (ret.) Dr. Shaul Arieli, who helped us understand the ramifications of the Trump Plan on the ground and the dangerous consequences of unilateral annexation. Shaul, who was involved in past rounds of negotiation between Israel, the Palestinians, and Jordan, explained how despite the complexities of the situation on the ground, there is a solution for every core issue.
