On August 10th, a group of high-level Israeli and Palestinian women leaders, many of them with prominent positions in civil society, academia, and media, met for a dialogue meeting in Ramallah. In lectures led by expert guest speakers, the group spoke about the reality on the ground in the West Bank, the need for a political solution to the conflict, and the importance of promoting the inclusion of women in decision-making positions. In the discussions that followed, Palestinian participants shared their fear that the judicial overhaul would harm their rights as Palestinian women, and Israeli participants, many of them leaders of the anti-overhaul protest movement, shared their concerns and inspired a conversation about the connection between democracy, equality, and peace.
