Israeli members of the GI’s Two-State Coalition met with Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Omer Bar-Lev on January 26, 2022.
Minister Bar-Lev participated in an intimate discussion with the NGO leaders about current political developments and the most pressing concerns on the agenda related to the conflict. Sharing his assessments the conversation focused on the efforts to build a political horizon on the road to the two-state solution, possible steps regarding Gaza, the surge in settler violence, and recent events on the ground in East Jerusalem, in particular surrounding Sheikh Jarrah.
The TSC members presented their analysis about the situation, shared data and statistics from Israeli public opinion. Bar-Lev reaffirmed the importance of the role of the TSC and promised to review and discuss the topics covered in the meeting with his colleagues . The meeting concluded with a call to action for both the TSC and the government to continue working towards peace, reconciliation and the two-state solution, and to make strides in a positive direction.
The TSC will continue the dialogue with Minister Bar Lev as with other key members of the government.
