Two-State Coalition Meets with EU Special Rep for the Peace Process

On the 27th October, Israeli members of the Geneva Initiative’s Two-State Coalition met with the EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Susanna Terstal. In the meeting were representatives from the Geneva Initiative, Peace Now, Mitvim and Darkenu.
The question at the heart of the conversation was: how to revive a political process between Israelis and Palestinians? We discussed the role that civil society can play in promoting dialogue and building bridges between the two sides, the potential that lies in recent regional developments and ways to confront the challenges ahead, both the threat of ongoing de facto annexation and the shifts in public opinion. We were all in agreement that there is no better way than the two-state solution, which serves the vital interests of all parties and must be pursued with renewed dynamism.
We thank the EU and Ambassador Terstal for the firm and principled stance on the international stage, and hope that the months ahead will offer new opportunities for us to work in tandem to achieve this goal.
This meeting was followed by one with Palestinian members of the TSC in Ramallah on November 5th.
