On December 29th, we held a virtual tour for a cohort of Israeli journalists guided by conflict expert and Geneva Initiative board member Dr. Shaul Arieli. The tour took the group to a series of vantage points in Jerusalem along a future border line. It explored the significance of settlement plans for Givat Hamatos, E-1 and the area known as E-2, as well as the impact on the contiguity of a future Palestinian state. It delved provided a detailed explanation of the geostrategic considerations, demographics, and interests that make settlement expansion in this area particularly problematic.
