About 50 Russian-speaking activists attended a workshop on January 6th on the topic of understanding and evaluating news about the conflict. In the era of “fake news,” it is more important than ever to develop the critical skills to be able to identify, and explain to others, what is factual, what is bias, and what is simply false in the media. This is particularly true when consuming news about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Our speaker Alexei Tsvetkov used relevant examples to provide the group with the skills and understanding to effectively analyze – and, for the journalists among us, to report on – news about the conflict.
