On September 17th, just a few days before the nation-wide lockdown, we held a socially-distanced workshop for young Russian-speaking journalists. The group met with GI representative Yariv Oppenheimer and discussed the news, opinions, and needs in the Russian-speaking community in Israel in the framework of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The session focused on equipping the group with tools that can enhance their ability to promote powerful messages about the two-state solution among their wider networks. They also discussed the unique characteristics of the Russian-speaking community and how to inject more hope into the discourse, in order to create an inclusive conversation around peace.
The meeting is part of the GI’s broader strategy to build a strong network of informed and committed supporters of the two-state solution in the Russian-speaking community in Israel.
